Is Call of Duty DMZ Still Playable in 2024?

| GNG Gaming News | Published: January 2, 2024 |

Call of Duty DMZ first released along side Warzone 2.0 back in 2022. Fans quickly took to the Extraction-based mode that pitted players against players and AI bots. There were tiers of missions to complete, challenges to unlock and exclusive rewards for players to get.

It was announced in late 2023 that the mode would essentially cease. No new missions, wipes, or updates would come to the mode as Call of Duty put all of their focus and attention into Modern Warfare III's Modern Warfare Zombies mode.

But is DMZ still playable in 2024? The short answer is yes. Players can still infil to any of the 5 original locations of Al Mazra, Ashika Island, Vondel, Building 21 and Koschei Complex.

If you are a new player it is still a great time to get in and play. You'll have dozens of missions to complete, various challenges that improve your Active Duty soldiers and exclusive unlocks that can be carried forward into the Modern Warfare III universe.

Sadly, veteran players are quickly running out of things to do. No new missions have been added and they won't be added either meaning there is very little for the hard-cores left to do. As we've seen in previous seasons, once the content dries up, players turn to pure PVP to keep themselves entertained.

DMZ has been abandoned for newer shinier things like MWZ. There are no plans for updates to the mode for the foreseeable. But if you are new or prepared to create a new account there is plenty of content available in the mode to keep you going.
