Leaks suggest a new map could be coming to Warzone 2 and DMZ with the Season 04 update.
We are now passed the half way point of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II's life-cycle with a fresh title coming later this year, Call of Duty 2023 (Reportedly Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III). Data leaks determined that several unreleased Warzone maps were being worked on.
One is the infamous Las Almas. Those familiar with Modern Warfare II's Campaign will remember this location from several of the storylines missions. The second leaked intel was a Dutch based Resurgence map called 'Vondel'.
Map of the real Vondelpark, Amsterdam
After a little bit of research we found several connections to the name Vondel. Vondel, or Joost van den Vondel, was a famous Dutch poet in the 17th Century. In-fact, he was so famous they named the largest park in Amsterdam after him, Vondelpark.
Vondel is likely a direct reference to this real-world location. It is being labeled as a small, Resurgence map so the play area is probably the park itself and some surrounding built up areas. This map, like the others will be available in Warzone 2.0 and DMZ.
At the time of writing this article we are about 28 days away from Warzone 2.0 Season 04 so it isn't likely we will hear anything official for at least another 2-3 weeks. As always this information is based on leaks which are subject to change or be false.
